Here are the assignments the technical development team will have by class on Wednesday 1/28. This is about assessing the alternatives to our current solution. It will include advantages & disadvantages, potential costs (good or bad), and any other issues about these alternatives.
- Use a commercial vendor's solution (Steve): Research existing COTS products for CRM that can run on a mobile device.
- Automated call center for scheduling (Aaron): Having a call system that either allows reps. to call and get their appointments, or get called to get appointments.
- Mobile desktop Application (Tristan): A binary installable application that runs natively on each platform.
- Utilize the Existing Web Application (Matt): Basically a "do nothing" solution where TPS provides access to the existing application. Minor changes are made, as needed, to make the site work correctly.
- No modifications to the current process (Larry): Keep the business the way it is right now. Reps. are given appointments, etc. from their manager.
- Scale-back scope of current solution (Alex): Limiting the project to perhaps just one browser, reducing feature sets, etc.
By Tomorrow at 6pm team members will have finished their initial drafts of these assignments. This assignment will be done on Wednesday. For the other assignments given to secific group memembers, those are expected to be done by Friday.
